PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Having originally designed Crown’s 20,000 SF regional Aurora headquarters and distribution center in 1994, Crown Equipment again approached Intergroup for a solution to help the branch meet full capacity and solve several issues their organizational growth had caused for the sales, leasing, and servicing of their product. After touring the facility, it was evident that Crown’s rapid growth created space struggles so Intergroup worked with the corporate architect to propose an addition that would add 29,000 SF of new area with an enclosed dock for servicing and sales, additional office spaces, and better access for customers to the parts department. To improve site visibility for passing interstate traffic, Intergroup created an exterior, lighted glass display room showcasing unique product lines and integrated bright orange accents that improve building appeal.

Founded in 1956, Crown Equipment Corporation designs, manufactures, distributes, services, and supports material handling products. Today, Crown is one of the largest international providers of handling equipment. The local branch of Crown Lift Trucks has been located in Aurora since 1995.
